Biography
born to ride and study physics. I graduate from the University of Texas in May. I plan on teaching High School Physics sometime in the near future. I am riding for many reasons, but most importantly, I am riding for my Grandmother, Maria Antonio Cortez, Karen Hood, Janis Moore, and Sue Fredrickson.

Personal Statement
Sure, we could drive to Alaska in a few days, relatively safe in a car, with out having to rely on the hospitality of generous people, but the destination is not really what this trip is about. By taking off on a bike, we really put ourselves at the mercy of the elements, the good nature of people willing to help us on our way, and the hazards of the road. We have to trust that everything we need for our inaugural journey across this county can be provided along the way. This trip is about bringing hope to victims of cancer. It will be like a pilgrimage where everyone we meet along the way thinks first about our ambitious journey and then about our driving force, our motivation. This trip is about changing people, and I believe that those few lucky people, who are lucky enough to have the chance to participate, will change the most.
