When I headed out the door to meet everyone at the Day 0 send off. It was slightly cloudy but I didnt think anything of it..."Perhaps it wont be so hot today" I was mistaken. It POURED on me on my 3 block ride over to the East Mall - so I started my 70 day journey with wet, itchy feet. Super. Hopefully it wasn't a sign.

We were introduced by some UT officials etc. We had many a photo taken. I hugged and said bye to my teary eyed mom and girlfriend and headed to the Capitol building and City Hall.

After many photos and thanks from our various sponsors we started our ride to Cedar Park. It was a short 25 miles, but hot and rainy. We all slept in Running Brushy Middle School gym and awoke to Day 1 - the Atlas Ride.
