Biography
I was born and raised on a small farm in rural East Texas. With hardly any neighbors for miles, I was left to entertain myself by riding my bike and reading everything I could get my hands on. I now attend the University of Texas at Austin to pursue degrees in Business and Architecture. I am eagerly awaiting graduation in the fall and I look forward to all that life will throw my way in the future.
Personal Statement
Before joining Texas 4000, my experience with cancer was limited to a only a handful of people. Shortly after joining however, the number of people in my life that have been affected by cancer increased dramatically. My mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer a week after I joined this organiztion, and I'm lucky to call her a cancer survivor today.
Facing statistics such as 1 in 2 men and 1 in 3 men will battle cancer at some point in their lives, we can be certain that if we haven't already, we will at some point, have to face cancer. I ride because I want to better those odds. I ride because I want to bring hope to those currently battling cancer. I ride to inspire others to join the cause, and defeat cancer once and for all.
