About: I was born July 14, 1984 in Salisbury, Maryland. When I was nine my parents sold off our house and many of our belongings and moved us onto a 37 foot sailboat. This would be our home for the next two years as we sailed down the eastern seaboard and around the Caribbean Sea. After, two years we docked in Ft. Lauderdale, FL sold off the boat and moved to College Station, Texas. I graduated from A & M Consolidated High School in 2002, and went to Texas Tech for a year. After nine months in Lubbock, I determined it was time to leave and transfered here this summer. I'm a radio/television/film major, and a junior in credit hours.

I would like to thank Van for the extra encouragement!

Why I Ride

This trip is going to be an experience of a lifetime! Also, I'm so glad that we are raising money for cancer research, it seems to be the way that everyone 'goes' these days. Two of my Grandparents have died from cancer;they each experienced a long, slow painful death. I remember how my Grandmother suffered for many years, and how she just withered away right before our eyes. It was very frustrating, since there was no way to cure her and basically nothing we could do for her. My grandfather always experienced much of the same; he seemed so youthful for his age and there was nothing that he couldn't do, but then cancer came and struck him down. I remeber seeing him sitting in his wheelchair, to weak to walk, and I could tell just by the look in his eyes how much he hated being so crippled, and it was due to cancer. Our trip will raise cancer awareness, and hopefully our donations will bring the American Cancer society closer to finding the Cure!
