About: I was born in New Port News, Virginia, but grew up in Lake Jackson, TX. I came to the University of Texas in 2004 as a chemical engineering major but soon changed into biomedical engineering. Not too long after that I decided to pursue medical school instead of an engineering career. I love Austin because it has such great places to be both outdoors and indoors. Although I only got into mountain biking when I got to UT, I am extremely excited about hitting the road this summer.

Why I Ride

When I heard about Texas 4000, I was impressed by the dedication these students had, to give their entire entire summer to this cause. I didn't know if I had it in me to go all the way with it. But the more stories I heard about previous riders and their experiences with Texas 4000, the more I thought it was something that I was meant to do.
