About:
I like to write.
I also like to cycle.
So, I figured riding my bike to Alaska and writing about it here would conveniently fit both criteria.
If you like what you read, please drop me a line! I promise I'll respond as soon as the generally limited internet access along the Rocky Mountains will allow. I'm a nice person with nice manners and I'll write you back nicely, to boot.

Why I Ride
The reason why I want to be a part of the incredible organization that is the Texas 4000 can be summed up in three simple words: fate is unfair. Fate is unfair in that the kindest, the biggest-hearted, the most selfless, those that revel in the simple pleasure of lying in the grass on a clear night sky full of stars, those that love and are loved that celebrate in the sheer joy that is each day of their lives...could be taken from us by chance alone. Though it is often true that in life, one's destiny is drawn by their own hand, there are times when the amount of love one has in their heart and that others have in their hearts for them is shown a blind eye by fate. But what an incredible, beautiful chance to be able to give those with such a life vigor in their hearts a chance to live! Those that were blindsided by the hand of fate and given a physical vessel too weak to contain the very strongest of souls. The beast of cancer is a force to be reckoned with, but nothing would please me more than to fight in the battle against it. To be able to be a part of a group of so many other individuals that are so driven, so selfless would be more than an honor. As a part of the 2007 Texas 4000 Team, I will do everything in my power and utilize every ounce of strength within me to help overcome the unfairness of fate.
