About:
Hello all! My name is Tanner walker and this is bio should help all of you gain a better idea of who I am as a rider and a person!
THINGS ABOUT ME: I am a Sociology and African American Cultures double major here at the University! I recently rescued a boxer who I spend the majority of my time with and tell all my secrets too, he is truly a man's best friend. If you ever see me on campus I most likely will be skating around and obnoxiously bobbing my head to awesome tunes, or possibly breaking out into a random musical number. I have a very "relaxed and open" personality and many people say that they think I am from California, but I have no clue what that means since I was bred in Houston. I have an incredibly supportive family who have stuck by my side in every single thing that I have wanted to do. I also have a lady friend who I met through classes at the University, and she is such an inspiration and a huge reason why I do this.
THINGS I LOVE:
I love intelligent and deep conversation (something I value heavily), skating around, making people laugh, scenic runs, any dogs, the outdoors, family, and poetry.
I love tattoos! They are honestly a huge part of my personality, I love to break the negative stigma behind tattoos by showing people that people with tattoos can be some of the most intelligent, kind, and motivated people!
ASPIRATIONS:
I plan to go to law school after I complete my undergraduate degree, but I mostly want to represent and overlook children that are going through the fostering system. I have a weak spot for children and I believe that the foster care system needs drastic improvement and hopefully I can be the man to help implement these changes to improve the lives of children who desperately need a chance. I also want to work with animals who have undergone animal cruelty.
Why I Ride
I am so excited to be a part of Texas 4000 and an experience that is so much bigger than myself. I have already met so many amazing and inspiring people that have exposed me to so many different perspectives. I originally joined Texas 4000 because of my grandmother Florence Horton who was diagnosed with stage four colon cancer about four years ago, and she continues to be my inspiration. I truly believe in the three pillars of Texas 4000, and I cannot wait to spread hope, knowledge and charity across the country.
