About: Hi, I'm Grant and I am a freshman at UT studying Mechanical Engineering! I am a member of BYX, a christian fraternity on campus, and I'm involved in Young Life. This summer, I will be spending the majority of my time working for Kanakuk Kamps as a counselor for high school kids. I have a huge passion for serving high schoolers and just being a part of their lives! I have a loving family made up of my two sisters, Berkley and Macy, my mother Christy and my father Patrick (who actually played football at UT; hook'em). I played football and ran track at Southlake Carroll high school and haven't since lost my love for sports!
Why I Ride
For me, it all goes back to my grandmother on my father's side. She was diagnosed with cancer in a time of my life when I was very selfish and closed myself off from feeling the actual effect that this disease had on my life and my family. All the while, she was suffering immensely and would often say that it was a blessing for her to go through it all because it would allow other people to see the way the God provided for her! How cool is that! She has since won two battles with cancer and is living strong today on the same by the grace of God. Ever since, I have been opened up to see all the different ways that cancer affected the people around me and it is truly astounding. Cancer has had such a profound effect on me and many of my loved ones that I ride to give back to those who have had to go through such a tough experience.
