About: Hey everyone! My name is Peyton and I'm a 4th year Biology student at UT. I'm currently on the pre-med track and will hopefully be applying to medical school in the summer of 2020. Along with my involvement in Texas 4000, I'm also an undergrad assistant in the Biology Lab and a FIG mentor. Before starting college, I was a competitive gymnast for twelve years and I've been coaching ever since. I'm the big sister to four amazing siblings - Kiley, Kaia, Dylan, and Ethan. I am so excited and humbled to be a part of the 2020 team!

Why I Ride

Growing up, I had seen friends and loved ones battle this disease but never understood the toll it can take on a person. This changed when I found out that my grandfather had been diagnosed with terminal cancer last year. I ride for my Grandpa and Grammy because the strength they showed during this time was inspiring. Unfortunately, it's very hard to find someone that has not been affected by this disease in some way. Through all of the tragedy that cancer brings, the bond that is formed within the family and community is simply amazing. This is a bond that allows us to make connections with complete strangers because we may have a small understanding of what the other person is going through. I ride for family and friends and anyone who has been touched by this terrible disease. I ride so children do not have to understand what it feels like to grow up without a parent. I ride so no parent has to understand what it feels like to outlive their child. If I can ride for you or anyone you know, please reach out to me - I would love to hear from you!
